I’ve tried to hang out (4th of July sucked – I couldn’t eat anything at our get together), and it’s really hard. You can’t cheat at all. If you cheat with sugar, fat, or starches, you’re taking 2 steps back. I prefer hot veggies over salads. Just make sure whatever spices and seasonings you use are sugar- free. Try veggies and meat with Bragg’s liquid aminos (it taste kind of like soy sauce), use Frank’s hot sauce and Tabasco, and use garlic and onions for flavor. Stevia and flavored liquid stevia (my favorite flavors are the Vanilla Cream and Coconut) in place of sugar. They aren’t cheap, but you only use a few drops at a time so they last forever. Sugar- free doesn’t necessarily mean sugar- free just because the label says so. Brands hide sugar under different names like maltose, maltodextrin, and sucrose to name a few. Here’s a list of the 5. When you get on the Type A Diet, you will naturally be thinner. If you are accustomed to eating meat, you’ll lose weight rather rapidly in the beginning. Eliminating some of the toxic elements of meat from your diet greatly helps out the detoxification process in your body; and when you follow the Type diet, you can supercharge your immune system and potentially short- circuit the development of life- threatening diseases. This helps reduce the burden on the stress response systems of the body, curtailing and preventing symptoms of a dysfunctional Neuro. Endo. Metabolic (NEM) stress response. When Type As eat meat, they experience sluggishness. Type As have low stomach- acid content, therefore they have a hard time digesting meat. The slow and sometimes incomplete digestion generates a greater toxic load as microscopic organisms grow within the gut that are normally kept in check by a healthy gut microbiome. Reducing or eliminating meat from your diet prevents this increased toxic load from affecting your body’s detoxification process, an important circuit of the NEM stress response system. Type As also thrive on the vegetable proteins found in beans and legumes, except those mentioned for the “Avoid” list. The fermentation process breaks down and converts many of the offending and difficult to digest proteins and nutrients into forms which cause less stress, eliminating some of the load on the NEM stress response to make sure the body continues to run smoothly. Vegetables are vital to the Type A Diet, providing minerals, enzymes and antioxidants. Type A are very sensitive to the lectins in potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, cabbage, tomatoes and peppers. They aggravate the delicate stomach of Type A. Type A should eat more fruits that are alkaline, avoid mangoes, papaya and oranges for they cause extra stress to your digestive tract create imbalances in the metabolic circuits of the NEM stress response.
